Physical Requirements:Requires handling of light-weight objects up to 10 pounds. Sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time. Performing repetitive motion tasks. Ability to navigate campus for meetings. Effectively communicating with individuals form diverse backgrounds and varied professional levels.
Shift:Typically, Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additional work hours may be required.
Job Summary:Oversee and/or assist with unemployment hearings, Kentucky Board of Claims claims and hearings, Title IX hearings, and administrative hearings related to residency appeals, student account collections, and medical bill collections. Investigate matters raised by the Office of Legal Counsel, Internal Audit or Human Resources. Perform other duties as assigned.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :No
Preferred Education/Experience:Minimum of two years of practice of law with one year of experience in litigating matters in court or before federal and/or state administrative agencies. Knowledge of and experience with employment law matters. Other preferred experience and characteristics include: (1) membership in the Kentucky Bar or eligibility for admission without further examination; (2) outstanding writing ability; and (3) a record of academic accomplishment at both undergraduate and law school levels.
