Responsible for training and providing advising oversight for 13 professional advising staff. Responsible for director supervision of 3 freshman advisors in addition to the Director of Student Success. Provide leadership in establishing a team-centric unit. Provide mentorship, evaluate and provide direction to all staff encouraging them to have a positive impact within their positions for all students’ classifications through graduation. Monitor advising staff efforts for accomplishment of College of Engineering and department advising goals. Ensures compliance with institutional and/or professional expectations of providing students with consistent, accurate and prompt advising services. Confirms that the advising staff are meeting the College of Engineering philosophy of providing a student-centered learning environment that supports student development and retention. Meets with departmental chairs/DUSs to provide input on advising during staff performance evaluations. Oversees advising staff orientation in compliance with institutional and/or professional expectations. Coaches and supports advising staff in professional growth and development. Supervise the Director of Student Success focusing on student success initiatives in the College. Supervises the Director of the Living Learning Program focusing on programming that enhances student success in the Engineering Residential College.
