Shifts/work schedules for virtual tutoring will be determined and agreed upon by the student-tutor and the UK employee for their child/children.

Job Summary:

Student tutors will be hired via the UK Federal Work-Study program to offer virtual one-on-one tutoring services to K-12 student s that are children of UK employees. Tutors will be matched with children based on subject-tutor matches. Tutors will create Zoom or MS Teams meeting links for the tutoring sessions. Tutors will be responsible for maintaining and submitting records of tutoring hours. Tutors may work 10-30 hours a week based on their availability. A screening interview and a standard background check will be completed for all applicants before they are referred to parents. Referrals are made as requested by the UK employees. All majors are welcome to apply. Previous tutoring experience is helpful, but not required.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Able to patiently teach and guide students; able to explain concepts in a variety of ways, so that the students can learn the material and complete their schoolwork. Desire to tutor children between K-12. Ability to problem solve, offer positive feedback. Familiarity with childhood behavior is helpful.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Previous paid or unpaid tutoring experience is desired, but not required.
