Responsibilities include:
- Diagnostic Microbiology: Bacterial/fungal species isolation and identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, supportive testing and agricultural industry microbial testing
- Mammalian Serology: Equine infectious anemia virus (EIA/Coggins) testing, equine progesterone testing, other mammalian pathogen testing/serological assays as developed
- Quality assurance/quality control to support AAVLD accreditation and GLP requirements, inventory control
- Data entry and results compilation
- Client communications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of laboratory experience (preferably medical technology, bacteriological assays, and serological assays) or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Clinical diagnostic laboratory experience is preferred. Good organizational skills are a must. Good interpersonal and communication skills are needed to effectively communicate with clients, staff and faculty. Basic computer skills are essential. Must be available to work an alternative schedule of a Tuesday thru Saturday work week including rotating holiday coverage.
This position is located in Kennett Square, PA where there is no public transportation. Individuals must have their own transportation.
Position is contingent upon funding.
