Position Summary:

Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Buell lab will be responsible for the design, construction and analysis of a minimal plant chassis that will enable production of high-value terpenoids in plants as part of a larger initiative in Precision Agriculture. The Postdoctoral Associate will also oversee undergraduate students who will generate constructs, perform plant care, isolate nucleic acids, and transform plants. This person will also help mentor new graduate students for which their supervision is essential for the proper execution of research.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

Ph.D. in plant biology, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics or related field is required. A research background in the plant sciences with a publication record showing productivity is preferred. Demonstrated leadership in research desired.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :

Advanced knowledge of genomics, gene editing and bioinformatics is required. Demonstrated ability to communicate and demonstrate in-depth knowledge on subject matter.
Demonstrated critical assessment skills essential.
Strong inter-personal and team work skills.
