Bachelor’s Degree and experience in a medical office setting; experience as a Medical Record Technician; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Thorough knowledge of organizational processes and process improvement.
Some knowledge of medical terminology.
Considerable knowledge of legal aspects of medical records.
Provide customer service to all clients of the Medical Records Department. Primary responsibilities include pulling patient schedules, answering phones/emails and scanning medical records for all patients of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and attaching scans to electronic records. This position will also be cross trained to perform all aspects of the Medical Records reception office which entails: answering and routing phone calls, emails and faxes in a timely manner; attaching incoming documentation to patient records; pulling and organizing files for all service areas of the hospital; notifying service areas of patient arrival; processing records requests; and other duties as assigned. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and consistent time management skills.
