Stanford Online High School is also the new home of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS), which provides a diverse array of academic enrichment programs that take place mostly in the summer but also throughout the academic year. Held primarily online, SPCS programs serve intellectually curious pre-college students from around the world.

The Academic Technology Support Specialist will facilitate the integration of technology into teaching and learning within the OHS community. Reporting to the Director of Technology, this position engages with OHS instructors, students and parents and is their first point of contact for any technical related questions or issues that concern any of the technical platforms supporting OHS online instruction.

**Please note that the Stanford Online High School and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offices are located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus, however currently, all staff are required to temporarily work from home, due to the county health & safety restrictions.**

Your responsibilities include:

Provide assistance in the direct integration of technology into course curricula. This includes supporting OHS instructors in the use of both synchronous and asynchronous educational tools in their classrooms. Respond to technical support request tickets from students enrolled in the Online High School or the SPCS enrichment programs and resolve technical challenges preventing students from fully participating in their online classes. Provide technical support assistance to the OHS Student Life team during single day and multi day virtual events hosted by the school. Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues on the main school platforms including Student Information System, Learning Management System, and Virtual Classroom software. Escalate complex issues to other members of the OHS tech team, other OHS or Stanford departments, and external vendors.Participate in the development of resources, seminars, courses, or workshops to disseminate information about uses of technology.Maintain and enhance technical training documentation and troubleshooting knowledge ­­base for students, parents and OHS instructors/staff.Engage in initiatives to encourage faculty and/or students to adopt the use of appropriate computer technologies in their teaching, learning, and co-curricular activities. Participate in the evaluation of new technologies that support online education. Stay informed about educational technology developments through lists, publications, and conferences.To be successful in this position, you will bring:

Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.In addition, preferred requirements include:

Current knowledge of the latest software and design standards.Ability to define and solve logical problems for technical applications.Knowledge of and ability to select, adapt and effectively use a variety of programming methods.Ability to plan, design, develop, and evaluate engaging multimedia learning/training objects.Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, pedagogical issues, and best practices for classroom, online and hybrid learning.Strong knowledge of learning management systems and various classroom and online learning technologies.Ability to recognize and recommend necessary changes in user and/or operations procedures.Basic knowledge of software engineering principles.Physical Requirements, Working Standards & Conditions:
