Creating a first-of-its-kind alliance across health disciplines, the college comprises the School of Medicine, the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, the recently-launched School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, the future School of Population & Public Health, the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, and research units focused on cancer, clinical translational science, precision health, and stem cells. The Project & Events Manager for UCI’s Office of the Vice Chancellor, Health Affairs uses skills as an experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices to support the strategic initiatives and events for the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this position is responsible for supporting the implementation of moderate to large projects that have college-wide impact. Incumbent must demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for providing analysis and obtaining solutions. This role will also support the planning of large scale events, high profile meetings, including the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences advisory board, health affairs town halls, VCHA annual state of the College, and other events as needed. Responsibilities may include budget oversight, event logistics such as catering/vendor management, agendas planning, scheduling speakers, coordination with internal and external partners, meeting minutes, coordinating speaking points and power points for VCHA and other leaders, and correspondence with stakeholders Compensation Range: Monthly: $4,641.67 - $7,083.33 Department Website: http://www.healthsciences.uci.edu Required:
- 4-7 years of relevant experienceBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / trainingKnowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Analytical / problem-solving skills. Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses. Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Strong policy analysis techniques. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage events and complex projects. Ability to collaborate with multiple units.
- Experience in higher education or within the UC system.
