Independently responsible for UCI's administrative policies and procedures program. Responsible for oversight and high-level analysis of administrative policy information originating from a broad range of sources (Regents and Presidential Policies, Office of the President, Delegations of Authority, UC Business & Finance Bulletins, campus divisions, departments, and units, etc.). Independently uses and applies in-depth knowledge and experience in the specific policy field on projects that typically impact the entire organization or programs external to the organization. Operates in a highly visible, politically sensitive, legally complex, and evolving arena. Uses advanced professional concepts and objectives to address and resolve complex policy or program issues. Works on significant, strategic issues and problems requiring political sensitivity, where analysis of circumstances and information requires an in-depth evaluation of factors. Higher education (preferred) Administrative policies (preferred)Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Knowledge of current technology and the ability to conceptualize how technology can enhance communication of policy information. Analytical skills to interpret and apply federal and State regulations and systemwide policies and procedures to a variety of circumstances. Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Expert analytical / problem-solving skills. Skill in writing grammatically correct and technically precise policies, procedures, and delegations of authority. Highly skilled communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with and influence others, both verbally and in writing Expert knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures and external regulatory requirements in policy domain. Skill to organize large quantities of information into categories and create usable organization and navigation systems to support and relate those categories on the Web. Knowledge of Web communication principles, intranet development, and user interface design. Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Preferred: Highly skilled in all levels of project management. Developed skill in writing for the Web using streamlined language and employing techniques for online (scannable) reading of text while maintaining integrity of the document. Expert knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques. Expert skill in using a personal computer and web publishing software. Final candidate subject to background check.
