The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neurology has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor position.

Nature of Work:

This position will provide clinical care for patients with general neurological disorders, and more specifically with neuroimmune disorders. The position will include clinical, research, service and limited teaching. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the outpatient neuroimmune clinic, the outpatient general neurology clinic, and call service (inpatient team and/or Doctor of the Week).

Position Emphasis:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Outpatient evaluation of children with Neurological Disorders
  • On-going follow-up care both in clinic and by phone, for neurology patients
  • Participation in the Neuroimmunology Clinics and Neuroimmunology inpatient consults
  • Participation in attending coverage of the inpatient neurology service and/or Doctor of the Week service.
  • Collaboration of patient care with staff neurologists as appropriate
  • Teaching clinical care concepts to NP’s, PA’s, Residents and RNs.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $180,000-$190,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree
  • Board Eligibility in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology
  • Specialized training in Neuroimmunology
Conditions of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology
  • Current DEA
  • History of prior academic work (posters, manuscripts, grants) in the field Neuroimmunology

  • Willing to collaborate with the medical team to provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families
  • Ability to diagnose and treat patients with neurological diagnoses, with specialized expertise in neuroimmunology disorders
  • Knowledge and desire to specialize in neuroimmune diagnoses and treatment
  • Interest and demonstrated expertise in in advancing the academic field of Pediatric Neuroimmunology through teaching, research and advocacy
