Position Description:
The Marketing & Communications Department within UCLA Housing & Hospitality (H&H) provides comprehensive in-house creative support for all H&H units in a very high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Department creative services span the areas of web, print, and digital communications targeted to diverse audiences which include students, parents, staff, faculty, alumni, and visitors to the university. Internal clients include the following H&H departments: Administration, HR & Payroll North, UCLA Dining Services, UCLA Housing Services, Room Operations, University Apartments, UCLA Conferences & Catering, the UCLA Guest House, the UCLA Luskin Conference Center, and the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge & Bruin Woods Family Resort. Clients also include other departments within UCLA Administration.

Primary responsibilities of the Web Developer & Designer include the development of professional, visually appealing, user friendly, and responsive websites for UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services departments. Duties encompass the creation, updating, maintenance, and improvement of existing websites using and integrating new technologies, platforms, and software. The incumbent will use programming languages, content management systems, and graphic design software to accomplish the above. Web development skills should include extensive knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Git, JavaScript/jQuery, gulp.js, node.js, and PHP. CMS administration experience, particularly WordPress and WP theme modification/customization, is also necessary. Incumbent will work in conjunction with internal H&HS Information Technology group to ensure that all websites developed, updated, and managed are compliant with UCOP approved practices and guidelines. The Web Developer & Designer will also design and develop email campaigns and implement special projects for interactive applications by using relevant and appropriate technologies, including testing and trouble-shooting.

The successful candidate for the position will possess a broad variety of knowledge and skills in project management, analysis, and effective communications to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and actively engage with clients.
