Summary of Duties:
This position will identify creative opportunities to move research discoveries forward to benefit society through a variety of mechanisms including but not limited to licensing agreements; service centers, start-up companies, and non-profits. This position will establish and maintain relationships with College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) faculty to familiarize them with the role of this position. Position will develop and maintain connections with industries relevant to CVM commercialization and research missions and collaborate with college personnel to offer educational content (e.g., seminars, workshops) for college faculty, staff, graduate students, and DVM students, as appropriate.
Required Qualifications: Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and three (3) years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified within the project specialty. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
Minimum five (5) years experience packaging university discoveries into license-ready technologies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external constituents.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience negotiating and closing corporate licensing deals of third-party and university technologies.
Demonstrated connections to leading animal health companies and company leadership.
Additional Information:
Monthly Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
