Job Information

Augusta University invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure track, full-time faculty position in the Bachelor of Science Radiation Therapy Program housed in the Department of Undergraduate Health Professions, College of Allied Health Sciences.  The candidate will serve as the Clinical Coordinator and Course Director for five clinical internship courses, which constitute 8.0 credit hours (CrHr) in the Fall Semester, 8.0 CrHr in the Spring Semester, and 6.0 CrHr in the Summer Semester.  In addition, the candidate will be assigned a minimum of one to two didactic courses per semester as needed.

Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include the development and delivery of lecture and laboratory undergraduate courses; coordinating and supervising clinical internships; evaluation of students in didactic and clinical internship courses; planning curricula; oversight of student research projects; assisting with recruitment, admissions, and advisement processes for the Radiation Therapy Program; assisting the Program Director with program-related assessment and administrative tasks; providing service (public, professional, and institutional); and participation in research/scholarly activities in accordance with effort allocation.

Candidates will find an academic environment that encourages research activities such as professional presentations and publication of peer-reviewed articles.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum qualifications at the time of employment include a Bachelor's degree with plans to complete a Master's Degree within a designated time frame; documentation of graduation from a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)-accredited Radiation Therapy Program; current and unencumbered American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy; a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist; or a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an instructor (clinical or didactic) in a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Program.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree is preferred; demonstrated interpersonal, technical, and educational skills for organization and delivery of professional discipline content, curriculum, implementation, instruction, counseling, and evaluation; high-level knowledge and skills with web-based learning platforms such as Desire2Learn, ECHO 360, interactive educational techniques/technology, distance learning; knowledge and experience with JRCERT accreditation and learning outcomes assessment process; ability to collaborate with several academic departments, faculty, and clinical affiliates; ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate tact, discretion, and professionalism.

Shift/Salary

This is a 12-month appointment.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
