Advertised Job Summary:

This position completes work orders that require the loading and unloading, transportation and safe handling of furniture and appliances. This position will operate warehouse equipment and large trucks to perform work and will be required to accurately complete work orders and other documents. This position will act as a lead with directing small work teams of temporary staff during the summer and other times during special projects. As a lead, this position will oversee the proper stocking of materials, supplies and tools to carry out inspections and small repairs to furniture and appliance.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

High school diploma and directly related trade experience. Requires a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School diploma and 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Experience in the operation and maintenance of motorized vehicles and material handling equipment. Experience using computers and basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, vehicles, and storage facilities. Knowledge of the proper distribution, repair and maintenance of miscellaneous furniture and appliances. Knowledge of material transport, distribution, and storage concepts. Knowledge of State laws pertaining to the operation of vehicles upon State roads and highways. Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles and equipment. Ability to perform manual work.
