Under the direction of the Department Chair and Director of the Pediatric Dentistry, the Senior Clinic Manager in the Kornberg School of Dentistry is responsible for the operational functions of the Pediatric Clinic and for the clinics’ compliance with standards, laws and regulations as directed by regulatory and accrediting organizations, and state and federal governments.

The incumbent utilizes sound business principles and management practices to ensure that the clinics provide efficient dental care for children and professional services that support the mission and vision of the Dental School, and that patients receive access to the highest quality care. The primary mission of the senior clinical manager is to use the resources allocated to the pediatric clinic to ensure the highest experience in education and patient care.  The operational management includes development of manuals and systems in collaboration with the Clinic Director, supervision of clinical personnel, and management of inventory and equipment.  In addition, the incumbent supervises, mentors and trains all clinical staff (dental assistants and hygienist), conducts clinical and didactic training for clinical staff, and actively participates in patient care and education.  If licensed as a dental hygienist, he/she will also provide clinical care within the scope of practice under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as needed.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and at least three years of related dental practice management experience. Dental education and experience as a dental hygienist or dental assistant experience with EFDA certification. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Demonstrated ability to be task and detail-oriented.

*Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

*Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with diplomacy.

*Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.

*Ability to use standard clinical and office equipment.

Preferred:

*Master’s Business Administration education preferred.

*Experience working with residents/students.

*Experience using Electronic Health Records software.

*Knowledge of computer systems/applications used in dental practice.

*Teaching/Instructional experience.
