Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.
Additional Department Summary: The University of Alabama, Office of Evaluation and School Improvement (OERSI) seeks an innovative individual for a non-tenure earning Post-Doctoral position to become part of the Office of Evaluation’s program evaluation group in Educational Studies in Psychology, Research Methodology, and Counseling. After the initial one-year appointment the position is renewable for a second year pending availability of funding from multiple contacts through the Evaluation Office.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
Experience working with school-based program evaluation as well as evaluation in health- and social science-related fields. Completion of a research dissertation. Demonstrated emerging program evaluation agenda with strong beginning evidence of scholarly activity related to building the body of evidence-based practices in education. Evidence of submitted manuscripts for publication in a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal, as first author. Demonstrated interest in models and practices related to program evaluation. Participation in grant writing. Organizing and providing professional development (i.e., in-service training). Submit proposals for external funding related to program evaluation. Experienced with SPSS or related statistical software. Trained and experienced in mixed methods evaluations.
