The Advancement Communication Specialist is responsible for the creation, development, and management of all Division of Advancement electronic communication platforms including its website, email marketing, and all social media platforms in partnership with colleagues in University Marketing and Communications.
1.Manage the creation, development, and execution of electronic communication initiatives and supports the development of digital communication strategies for the Division of Advancement
2.Produce, write, and edit content to support the goals of the Division of Advancement and enhance engagement with alumni and friends.
3.Responsible for the administration of the WCU Advancement Division and Alumni Association website and social media platforms and assists with the electronic communication through the division’s website, alumni e-newsletter, and email platforms.
4.Manages the Division of Advancement communications calendar for both internal and external constituents.
5.Utilize Raiser’s Edge to track and analyze engagement results.
6.Maintain current knowledge of digital communication trends and recommend enhancements when appropriate.
7.Work collaboratively with partners across campus
8.Play an integral part in the communication of WCU’s signature online campaigns.
9.Serve as a liaison to various university divisions to assist them with various digital media initiatives and priorities.
This is a time-limited position for 3 years. Continued employment is contingent upon availability of funds.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position:
Excellent communication and composition skills, organized, detail oriented, team player, and the ability to produce accurate information under deadlines. Demonstrated success in creating, developing, and implementing effective social media and email marketing strategies. Must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be
received from appropriately accredited institutions.
