Position Summary:The successful candidate will provide support to the department head and other department faculty, assist in the management and administration of the office, maintain department and grant budgets, maintain department records, and greet and assist students, staff, and visitors. Duties include, but are not limited to: assistance in preparation of reports, creation of semester schedules in Banner, supervision of student office employees, processing of requests for travel authorizations and reimbursements, performance of some clerical duties, submission of online requisitions in Banner, maintenance of student work records, working as part of a team to serve the education of students, and working on various activities related to the operation of the Department. 
Position will function at the Journey Competency Level.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position:Must possess the ability to work efficiently in a busy office environment. Excellent organizational skills and understand how to prioritize and reprioritize tasks as they come in to the office; must be self-motivated to meet deadlines without direct supervision; must possess a high degree of proficiency in computer software knowledge such as word processing and spreadsheet programs, medium degree of proficiency of a database program is helpful; must possess the ability to perform several tasks at once; maintain long-term calendar of report or task due dates from year to year; must possess high degree of knowledge of university computer software such as Banner; must possess the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent communication skills, written and oral; excellent people skills; office systems/office management degree or equivalent experience in office management. Accounting experience helpful.
Anticipated Hiring Range:$32,000 - $34,000
