Organizational Unit Overview:

The Division of Infectious Diseases at The Brody School of Medicine is dedicated to the treatment of persons infected with HIV in Eastern North Carolina. Our physicians and physician extenders currently provide care for more than 1,000 patients in our clinic in Greenville as well as for another 300 patients in clinics in surrounding counties. Faculty members are currently collecting data to address the issue of the disproportionate infection rate of HIV in African-Americans. The division is involved in many clinical trials involving HIV therapies. These trials provide needed drugs to persons who may otherwise not be able to receive treatment.

Job Duties :

The Information Technology is a Ryan White grant-funded position in the Division of Infectious Disease and Internal Travel Health.

An Information Technology Analyst is needed to help the East Carolina University HIV Program (ECUHIVP), Division of Infectious Diseases and Internal Travel Health, to develop and manage our information systems to include helping to build and manage a Medical Case Manager-focused dashboard. ECUHIVP leadership have determined a dashboard is needed to help our medical case managers (MCM) manage their large caseloads to include prioritizing workflow on a given day, collecting annual substance abuse/mental health/trauma risk assessments and bi-annual RW eligibility documentation, and coordinating MCM services according to level of need per client.

This position designs data retrieval, reporting and management systems related to the Ryan White Grant. The position will conduct feasibility studies, evaluate costs, analyze user needs, design in-house data processing systems or subsystems, programs the systems or subsystems, develop testing criteria, establish documentation to support the new systems and serve as a project leader for the Ryan White Grant.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Master’s degree and 1-2 years’ experience; or a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years’ experience: or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
