Project Manager, Denny Center for Democratic Capitalism Georgetown Law

Requirements

Project Manager, Denny Center for Democratic Capitalism - Georgetown Law

The Project Manager for The Denny Center for Democratic Capitalism at Georgetown Law has oversight of all aspects of its signature research project - its Annual Report Card on the Health of Democratic Capitalism - over the life of the initial project publication.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Project Manager has duties that include but are not limited to:

Project Management
  • Gains agreement on overall project scope, goals, work streams and timelines, and measures progress.
  • Set deadlines, assigns responsibilities, coordinates the project's contributors and deliverables, and monitors and summarizes the project's progress.
  • Meets regularly with team members (internal and external) to resolve issues and drive accountability.
  • Manages the work of partnering institutions and external scholars toward the objectives of the report.
  • Acts as liaison to internal colleagues and support teams.
  • Provides monthly written updates on project progress.


Event Organization
  • Coordinates event schedules and facility reservations.
  • Drafts event descriptions with input of Executive Director.
  • Manages invitations, event promotion, student and RSVPs.
  • Supports events in real-time (virtually or in-person).
  • Coordinates with Denny Center administrator(s) to update website if/when necessary.
  • Assists with student engagement and additional content creation.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience - preference for prior project management experience, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Comfortable interacting with internal colleagues and external partners, donors, program participants and VIPs
  • Effective team player with strong problem-solving skills, a customer service orientation, an enthusiasm for learning, and an ability to get things done
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal)
  • Ability and flexibility to work mornings and evenings as needed for events
  • International and/or multicultural experience/exposure
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work with efficiency and attention to detail
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred
  • Familiarity with subject matter and scope of project objectives
  • Experience with event organization and planning
