Position Summary:
The Financial Aid Analyst is responsible for providing, obtaining, processing, and packaging student financial aid information and coordinating the compiling of data for various financial aid programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and customer service representation for the Academic Partnerships programOffer financial aid by processing applications, budgeting, packaging, adjusting, verifying data and general advising to studentsProvides assistance and other resources to potential and current students, staff, faculty, and off-campus agenciesDetermine if a student is eligible based on hours of enrollment and GPAAnswer incoming phone callsCorrect over awardsReturn VoicemailsReturn EmailsCheck Loan limits NSLDSProcess Extenuating Circumstance applicationsCertify Private LoansReinstate LoansOther duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures, student financial aid programs, standards and procedures, counseling and interviewing techniques, and principles and practices of money management
Ability to review and evaluate student financial needs and prepare appropriate financial aid package, disseminate information orally and in writing, collect, analyze, compile, and record data on financial aid, and supervise the work of subordinates
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Knowledge of student financial aid programs, standards, and procedures; knowledge of counseling and interview techniques; ability to review and evaluate student financial needs; ability to multitask; excellent communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office products
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree with a major in general business or related field
One (1) year of experience in student financial aid or related area
Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
