Physical Requirements:The physical requirements of this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing).
Shift:Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Job Summary:The Utilization Review Senior Technician is responsible for contacting insurance with notice of admission, communicating authorization information to UR nurse, and communicating final authorization/approval to the hospital billing office.
Additional duties include answering the UR main phone line, processing incoming faxes in a timely manner, data entry, managing 3M reports and work lists, and various other duties as needed.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.), extensive working knowledge of electronic health records, exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, effective written and verbal communication, and effective problem-solving skills.

Preferred Education/Experience:High school diploma and at least five full years of employment in a healthcare related organization; previous experience working with the precertification process highly preferred.
