The Gene Therapy Program (GTP) is entering a new era of unprecedented opportunity with the great potential to reshape the face of medicine as we know it. Our discoveries have set the stage for successful treatments and possibly even cures for devastating genetic diseases.

The laboratory of Dr. Jim Wilson, at GTP of the University of Pennsylvania, has been a leader in the development of innovative vector technology for close to three decades. We have emerged as the “go-to” organization for public and private partners, who want to participate in the gene therapy space. Currently, we are positioned to lead another round of vector innovation and establish pre-clinical and clinical proof-of-concept in therapeutic applications of in-vivo genome editing.

Continuation of all GTP positions is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

We are seeking an Reports Specialist to play a vital role in our Human Resources Talent Development Team.

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Development, the Reports Specialist will support Manager, Talent Development in the maintenance and implementation of systems as it relates to Human Resources data. Responsibilities include the maintenance of continuity and integrity of Human Resources data with focus on key Talent Development metrics for use of the HR team and GTP leadership across several platforms: Workday, iOffice, and UPenn data resources; provide data processing and analysis support around ongoing needs and initiatives; execution of ad hoc data requests. The Reports Specialist will provide data processing and analysis support around ongoing HR needs and initiatives. Additionally, the Reports Specialist will collaborate with the Employee Resources Coordinator in the implementation of identified initiatives and solutions; including data aggregation, input, and quality control.

An ideal candidate will operate well in a growth environment and with an orientation towards detail.

Joining the Gene Therapy Program and Orphan Disease Center offers professionals with the unique opportunity to provide support services for staff and activities that could lead to cures for devastating diseases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Work experience in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Needs Driven: ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of the department and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within the organizational parameters.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills; Strong sense of urgency in escalating critical issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills are a MUST including MS Word, Excel, Outlook. High level of proficiency in Excel required.
  • Experience in Business Objects, Tableau (or similar), and/or Workday preferred.
