About Us


The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) is a unit within the Office of the Provost at Georgia Tech. CEISMC serves as the primary connection point between Georgia Tech faculty and students and the preK-12 STEM education community.

Job Summary

Manage and lead in planning, development, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation of precollege science, mathematics, engineering, and technology programs for teachers/students. Provide program leadership in the administration of state and district education partnerships. May be responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.Interact with faculty, staff, students, K-12 state education officials (superintendents, principals, teachers).

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Manage and lead in the planning, development, budgeting, implementation and evaluation of programs and/or state and district education partnerships.

Job Duty 2 -
Hire and supervise program staff and establish positive working relationships and communications with clients, internal and external staff and consultants.

Job Duty 3 -
Develop and assess curriculum according to state and national science, mathematics, and technology standards. Provide professional development for teachers on the content and method of science and math instruction.

Job Duty 4 -
Develop and assist in the development of proposals to external funding sources including private, state, and federal agencies.

Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

This grant-funded position is responsible forcoordinating and leading Georgia Tech/CEISMC’s support of Atlanta Public Schools in the Washington Cluster (West Side). Also, this position provides program leadership in the administration of state and district education partnerships.This position interacts with faculty, staff, students, K-12 state education officials (principals and teachers) as it leads in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of pre-college science, mathematics, engineering, and technology programs for underrepresented populations in STEM. This position also assists with K-12 STEM certification and projects that are available for teachers and school administrators. This position plays a key role in achieving the vision set forth in the Commission on Creating the Next (CNE) report by reducing the barriers between preK-12 and higher education. This position manages approximately $2M in external funding from Google, Blank Foundation, NCR, Honeywell, West Side Future Fund and GaDOE.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Master's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Eight to ten years job related experience
