The Division of GI, Tumor and Endocrine Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, has a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position available at the rank of Instructor for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).  Under the direction of the full-time faculty or designee, this position provides outpatient medical care services at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH).

Job Responsibilities: The candidate will be expected to provide independent clinical services for our Trauma and Acute Care Surgery service (TACS) outpatient clinic.  Position would be Mon-Fri with some flexibility in hours. This person will serve as the primary clinic navigator for our outpatients as well as work closely with the trauma/acute care surgery attendings to provide outpatient clinical care. Important components of the job will be assistance in smooth transition from inpatient setting to outpatient care, point of contact for clinicians and patients, in person and tele-health visits. There is also the opportunity for outpatient procedural clinic.  Given the rotating nature of the resident assignments to services, the NP/PA will be a critical part of service continuity and also a link between the inpatient and outpatient environments for patients. 

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $94,765 - $123,261

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Masters degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.  
  • Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (Nurse Practitioner) and/or the Medical Review Board (Physician Assistant).  
Preferred Qualifications:  

    Two years’ experience in general surgery, trauma surgery, or critical care setting preferred.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
