Nature of WorkA PRA position is available for an individual interested in performing studies of to develop a GRINtrode (a GRIN lens with adjacent tetrodes) to record simultaneously electrical and optical measures of neural activity to study the role of CA1 and piriform cortex neurons in odor plume navigation in mice. Supervision ReceivedDaily interaction with the PI(s), students and the lab managers. Supervision ExercisedCoordinate work with other departmental personnel as needed.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe PRA will be engaged in research projects within the laboratory involving surgical implantation of GRINtrodes and imaging neural activity in CA1 with two photon microscopy in the awake animal. Salary and Benefits: The hiring rate (or budgeted rate) for this position has been established at $37,080. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
