Position Summary:

This position is responsible for fixed asset and debt accounting for the William & Mary and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. The incumbent will assist the Director of Financial Reporting in the preparation of the Annual Consolidated Financial Report for William & Mary (W&M) the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) and Richard Bland College (RBC) as well as other financial reports and ensure the integrity of data in the university’s financial system.

Required Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree or comparable education and experience.
•Experience in capital outlay accounting are required.
•Significant progressive experience in accounting.
•Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles within a higher education environment
•Strong computer skills including automated accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.
•Strong analytical and communications skills.
•A strong understanding of fixed asset and debt accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
•Experience in governmental and/or higher education accounting is strongly preferred
•Knowledge of the Commonwealth’s accounting system, policies and procedures is strongly preferred.

Advertised Pay Range:

Salary range of $46,766 - $62,000, Commensurate with Experience
