Administrative Coordinators typically support a composite of several operational functions including fiscal administration, procurement, human resources, academic support, student services, communications, grants administration, and other administrative functions. They are able to independently understand and interpret policy and use judgment to perform their duties.
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise seeks applications for a Program Support Technician in the Office of Advancement. Duties include working with the Vice Chancellor for Advancement to manage the stewardship process which includes essential creative writing of drafts of acknowledgement letters and other important donor correspondence. Reporting to the Director of Gift Accounting, responsibilities include preparation of daily deposit of gifts to the College and UVA Wise Foundation, performing Oracle journal entries, daily review of receipt data to ensure accuracy, processing of pledge reminders and providing data entry responsibilities.
The successful candidate will also provide vital administrative support to the Advancement office and assist with donor events and projects. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and excellent time management skills are essential. The position requires the ability to prioritize, manage, organize and perform duties in a timely manner with great attention to detail. The successful candidate will be expected to utilize all technology available to constantly achieve efficiencies and effectiveness of the position. In addition, the position works closely with partners at the University of Virginia to resolve issues.
Some weekend and evening work is required. A high school diploma or its equivalent is required and work experience in the accounting field and higher education is preferred as well as knowledge of State, University and institutional policies and procedures, general accounting and audit procedures and IRS guidelines. Hourly rate of pay $13.46 per hour.

Education: High School Diploma

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
