Position Summary:

  • Incumbent functions as the primary support contact and HB/PB expert for the Research application. Configures, builds, installs and maintains Research-related functionality within the hospital (HB) and profee (PB) billing applications. Analyzes HB/PB Research work flows, understands Research policies and regulations, procedures and constraints of Research operations supported by the application. Analyzes new releases to determine how workflow should be modified, building and populating databases and tables, conducts system testing and conversion data validation. Develops and documents internal procedures and establishes change control processes for the application. Functions as the primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions from end-users during training, new version go-lives, stabilization and on-going support.

    Annual Rate $74300 $116950 $159600

    Required Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, think critically and creatively, and provide leadership through a consultative role
  • Epic Billing Research Certification
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple activities and varied deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge and experience with three to four areas of focus in Research applications specialty area(s
  • Knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation
  • Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer
  • Understand Research Operations policies and procedures and develop Epic Research functionality to support these processes

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Data Courier
  • Experience with HL7, EDI, and/or XML
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Project Coordination / management experience
