Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision the primary function of this position is to provide fiscal support related to Payment Services, General Accounting, Purchasing and Receiving by reviewing WSU expenditures, determining proper handling of a wide variety of transactions, many requiring unique handling, and performing the final compliance review prior to expenditure of University resources.

Using independent judgment the incumbent will audit and process various invoice documents and requests for payment. Incumbent will ensure compliance with WSU policies/procedures and various tax rules and reporting guidelines related to Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Receiving.

This position acts as a resource for training and informing departmental personnel in determining appropriate accounting procedures for various expenditure transactions and interpreting and applying University and State expenditure policies.


Required Qualifications:

Three years of fiscal record keeping experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).


Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with WSU policies and procedures related to Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Receiving.
Familiar with freight and sales tax rules as well as IRS 1099M reporting guidelines Familiar with the WSU computing systems: Workday and Oracle.
Experience working in an Accounts Payable office environment.
Good customer service skills
