The Architect/Planner, Facilities Planning and Construction activities and ensures optimal functioning of programs and designs for Healthcare, Academic and Administration facilities. Specifically, the Architect/Planner performs design computations, compiles data, and completes architectural and planning assignments.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepares project estimates and architectural plans as assigned. Inspects structures in the field. Writes specifications, coordinates with material manufacturers, and inspects raw materials. Selects, evaluates, and implements architectural procedures and techniques to use in the completion of projects. Formulates architectural reports and specifications. Reviews completed architectural plans and estimates. Approves final specifications and ordered materials. Provides overall guidance on project objectives and concepts. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Develops preliminary program requirements for assigned projects. Develops migration plans and sequencing of group moves and relocations. Assists in developing site-specific planning strategies. Helps to accurately maintain the database and common data elements, and completes occasional bulk data updates. Formulates and modifies plans using AutoCAD. Coordinates with project staff to understand and communicate on specific space requirements and constraints. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field –
Certification and Licensing:
Architecture. License or able to be licensed within a year.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
