Advertised Job Summary:

The Service Crew Member will assist in performing semi-skilled to skilled corrective maintenance trades such as painting, floor and wall repair, moving and repairing of furniture in accordance with University policies and procedures. May work independently on maintenance tasks requiring a limited degree of profession skill. Will be expected to perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

1 year of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have trades specialist experience working in a College the size of Arts and Sciences (45+ buildings).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Use of painting supplies, painting tools, and equipment normally associated with painting. Knowledge of preventive maintenance in the area of general building maintenance. Skilled in making emergency and general repairs. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment such as handling of electrical tools, climbing ladders, using paint and paint supplies. Perform basic Arithmetic, write, speak, and keep accurate records. Must have the ability to read and comprehend both written and verbal instructions. Will be required to attend appropriate safety classes pertaining to specific job duties.
