TemporaryEssential Job Duties:
The objectives of this position are to assist with data collection, data entry and summarization of field and laboratory data. The research assistant will partition time between two project components, although it is expected that the field component will require more time. One component aims to develop a translocation strategy for amphibians (field component), and the other is designed to assess physiological performance of amphibians under various environmental conditions in a laboratory setting. -Applicants must have at least two years of Biology at the University/College level, but candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Ecology and/or experience with amphibian projects are preferred.Department Required Skills:
-Must be able to conduct field or laboratory with minimum supervision
-Ability to capture and handle amphibians, track animals using radio telemetry
-Record data on various parameters (e.g., temperature, oxygen levels, humidity).
-Ability to prepare progress reports
-Organized, self-motivated, and able to receive instructions and carry out detailed tasks
-Ability to work will in both independent and group settings
-Previous field experience (at least 1 year) with field based research, wildlife, and monitoring techniques (e.g., surveys)
