Position Description:
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Study Manager, the Phlebotomist will perform phlebotomy tasks contributing to the success of research projects conducted in the offices of Dr. Beate Ritz. The Phlebotomist will meet the Study Manager and research team at different sites of field work in the Kern, Tulare, or Fresno Counties (California's central valley) to perform phlebotomy (collect blood samples) on study participants. The Phlebotomist will be available for day trips that occur once every 1-2 months in each county.
The job does require the phlebotomist to travel 4 hours using a university vehicle to travel to different sites. They will be responsible for drawing blood from participants 4 hour drive away in the Central Valley and driving those blood samples back to UCLA using a university rented vehicle.
