The Interdepartmental Program in the Study of Religion at the University of California, Los Angeles is seeking a part-time Lecturer to teach one course on religious diversity in the contemporary Middle East during the Spring 2021 academic quarter. This course explores religious diversity in the contemporary Middle East through collective profiles of the region's main religious communities.
Applicants must have a PhD in Religions Studies or related fields, and should have experience teaching in a university setting. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Middle Eastern main religious communities as well as their social and political components. Applicants should also be familiar with Jews of Israel in all their variety, the heterodox sects that arose, and non-Abrahamic religious communities.
