Oregon Tech is seeking applications for a Communication Specialist in the Admissions Department. This is a 12-month, full-time position located on the Oregon Tech campus in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The successful applicant is expected to: Work closely with Admissions and Marketing leadership implementing and managing the marketing and communications plans out of the Customer Relationship Management CRM software Slate and support the recruitment, marketing, and yield efforts of the Office of Admissions. The position serves as the lead for Admissions in the day-to-day communication duties, long-term build-out, an overall assessment of communications flows, campaigns, and ad-hoc messaging, as well as the ongoing development and maintenance of the CRM database. The candidate will need to be detail-oriented, have strong time management skills, the ability to adapt to rapid changes, and think creatively and work collaboratively with Admissions and Marketing to create robust, multi-channeled communications to build the Oregon Tech brand across multiple cohorts is a critical marker of success for this position. Required: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field. Ability to track multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure and with frequently changing priorities. Demonstrated experience managing communication flow with CRM software and sound judgment informed by admissions data to develop and send targeted messages throughout the admissions funnel. Experience with Microsoft Office and transcript transmission services and familiarity with student information systems. Some evenings and weekends will be required beyond the standard forty hours a week. Preferred: Prior work experience in an admissions office at a university that has produced significant enrollment growth over the last 10-20 years, including experience implementing best practices in recruitment, communications, yield enhancement, and melt prevention. Demonstrated experience with Technolutions Slate CRM, SQL, and advanced HTML. And experience in communicating with customers through various electronic and print channels via focused campaigns.
