Minimum Qualifications:

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of PeopleAdmin and PeopleSoft systems. Familiarity with UGA data reporting.

Position Summary:

Assist in the day-to-day administration of human resource services for the UGA Athletic Association. Provide oversight for UGA branded camps and clinics that are managed as third-party operations by UGA Athletics personnel by ensuring compliance. Serve as a camp liaison for camp directors, campus partners and off-campus constituents. Responsibilities are varied and complex requiring a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgement, and initiative.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures. Solid understanding in recruitment, performance management, compensation, payroll, benefits, and conflict resolution. Demonstrated ability in utilizing technology resources and computer applications. Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies and procedures, NCAA, SEC and institutional rules and regulations.

While performing the duties of this job; the employee will navigate area; handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Will communicate with others. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Will look at objects up close and in the distance. Will also use peripheral vision.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Human Resource Functions:

• Provide assistance with compensation, benefits and wellness, employee relations, HR business and information systems, and time management methods
• Assist with position management by maintaining current position records, requesting job postings, and overseeing the workflow status of each posting
• Assist with candidate selection including the submission of hiring proposals and overseeing the workflow status of each proposal
• Assist with onboarding of new staff to include constant communication with selected candidates, verifying that new employees have been assigned UGA credentials; have received correspondence from Central HR; enrolled in benefits; and employee record has been created in OneUSG Connect (PeopleSoft)
• Assist with the development and execution of staff professional development opportunities

Oversite of Sports Camp/Clinic Operations:

• Serve as the liaison between UGA Athletics and individual camp directors, on-campus, and off-campus partners
• Maintain and oversee communication with all camp directors
• Ensure proper certifications and compliance forms are submitted and approved
• Monitor completion of various training modules, background checks, and other required components for each camp/clinic branded as a UGA associated camp
• Organize and facilitate training programs for camp directors and other appointed camp personnel
• Ensuring adherence to NCAA, SEC, University, and the Athletic Association rules and regulations

Ability to use various campus resources and systems to gather HR data to be utilized by various department in Athletics including compliance, information technology, business office, diversity & inclusion, etc.
