General Summary

The Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University seeks applicants for two non-tenure track positions to teach legal research in Legal Studies. One position starts on August 16, 2021, to teach LGS 203: Legal Research I (three credit hours, .25 FTE) for the 2021 fall semester. The other position starts on January 16, 2022, to teach LGS 204: Legal Research II (three credit hours, .25 FTE) for the 2022 spring semester.

These positions are represented by the Illinois State University Education Association and may have associated dues or fees.

Required Qualifications

1. A conferred JD degree from an ABA-accredited school prior to appointment start date.
2. Three years of experience as a judge or attorney.
3. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
4. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
