The College of Health Professions invites established scholars and clinicians, and promising faculty applicants for three full time, tenure-track, 10-month positions beginning August 2021.
A research doctorate and master’s degree in nursing with expertise in a respective specialty area are required. Evidence of sustainable nursing scholarship agenda is also required. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2022. All candidates are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and advising. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Maryland is required. Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations is necessary. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Academic rank as an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor will be commensurate with qualifications and university promotion and tenure criteria.
1)Teaching - provide high quality instruction in a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses, advise and mentor students as they matriculate through the program and prepare to enter the profession; 2) Scholarship - development/continuation of a focused area of scholarship that includes refereed publications, professional presentations, external funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with faculty and students; 3) Service – active service participation at the Department, College, University, Profession and community levels.
The department of Nursing is one of five departments in the College of Health Professions and CCNE accredited with approximately 825 pre-licensure undergraduate students. The department offers a large associate to bachelor’s program as well. Student admission is highly competitive. The department of Nursing offers the baccalaureate degrees at the Western Maryland Hagerstown campus, a regional center within the University System of Maryland and Towson University Northeast campus, which is located in Bel Air, Maryland.

Our centrally located campus sits on 330 rolling green acres and is 10 miles north of Baltimore, 45 miles north of Washington D.C., and 95 miles south of Philadelphia.
