Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the full-time position with benefits of Custodian (Building/Grounds Specialist II) in University Housing.
Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing assigned restroom facilities; cleaning all surfaces and items in assigned areas; maintaining flooring in designated areas; removing trash and recyclables; assisting team with cleaning/turn-over of all rooms in between occupancy, including Fall Check-in, Winter Break and Spring Move-out; cleaning for summer conferences and orientations; maintaining equipment and reporting maintenance and supply needs; stocking and maintaining supply carts and closets; and providing exceptional customer service to all constituents.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least six (6) months of experience in custodial field are required. Additionally, a successful candidate should possess: ability to deal courteously with the public and students; ability to work independently and supervise student employees; knowledge of operation and use of equipment and tools used in the care and cleaning of buildings; knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures preferred; and ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
