Position Highlights:

The University of Arizona’s College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) seeks a highly qualified Marketing Specialist to create, manage and implement a wide variety of marketing, communications, and community outreach initiatives.
In addition to being a college of the University of Arizona, CAST operates as a branch campus and is located in Sierra Vista, Ariz. The Marketing Specialist works closely with both CAST and Branch Campus Leadership to build a strong team of culturally diverse faculty and staff who are committed to preparing traditional, post-traditional and transfer students for success in a 21st-century workforce.
The Marketing Specialist builds and maintains working relationships with UA Main Campus marketing and communicators groups as well as statewide, regional, and local stakeholders. The main location for this position is in Sierra Vista, AZ. The Marketing Specialist will participate in community engagement in the region and will be expected to periodically travel to Tucson and other neighboring communities to attend meetings, as necessary. The Marketing Specialist will assist College and Campus leadership in advancing the land grant mission of the University to include assisting with diversity hiring through communications with Historically Black College & University (HBCU)/Minority Serving Institution (MSI), minority and women’s professional organizations, and other culturally diverse organizations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·Develop and manage marketing strategies and goals for the Sierra Vista Branch Campus, CAST college, departments, and programs.

·Oversee outreach and marketing to increase college diversity and inclusion strategies (i.e., develop marketing and outreach to universities, colleges, and organizations with large diverse populations)

·Work with Sierra Vista Branch Campus and CAST Leadership, departments, and programs to develop and manage marketing goals.

·Serve as Sierra Vista Branch Campus and CAST liaison to main campus relevant marketing and communications groups.

·Manage college, department, and program website content.

·Manage college, department, and program social media presence.

·Analyze digital analytics and develop action plans to improve marketing campaign performance.

·Responsible for

oLocal, regional, and statewide community relations

oLocal, regional, and statewide media relations

oWriting press releases

·Develop relationships with local, regional, and statewide media outlets.

·Develop relationships with local, regional, and statewide community relations groups.

·Advise college faculty and staff to ensure the understanding and compliance of university marketing and relations policies and procedures.

·Travel for marketing and community relation events through out the state of Arizona

Minimum Qualifications:

·Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communications or a closely related field; OR equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

Minimum of 5 years of marketing and communications experience.

·Experience with desktop publishing software and practices

·Experience with digital publishing

·Experience with writing and editing press releases.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Marketing and Communication experience in the Southeast Region of Arizona
•Experience in 2+2 higher education programs
•Experience in UA Marketing policies and procedures
