Operations and Logistics Manager - Georgetown University Mail Services

Requirements

The Operations & Logistics Manager position will oversee all functions of the Mail Services department, including supervision and performance management of Mail Services team members. The position will serve as a liaison between the University and third party mail and package carries, including the US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and others. Other duties will include oversight of outbound shipping, including shipments to Georgetown University's Qatar campus, bulk mailings, and management of postage accounts. This position reports to the Associate Director of Business and Operations and is expected to critically evaluate all Mail Services processes, procedures, and operations and propose improvements that will further the departmental goals of efficiency and customer service. Growth potential for this position includes expanded contract management responsibilities for the University's enterprise-level managed print services and a retail print shop.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Associate Director of Business and Operations as part of the Auxiliary Business Services team. Duties of this position will require daily interactions with Georgetown University faculty, staff, and students as well as external vendors.

Qualifications
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • 8+ years of related experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations, including 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in preparing, analyzing, and managing departmental expenses, including profit and loss statements
  • Experience with timekeeping procedures, labor laws, and performance management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in contract management preferred
