Position Description:The UNC Lineberger Cancer Network ( www.unclcn.org ) supports education and collaboration to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality within North Carolina. The UNCLCN team works with partners both across the UNC Campus and across the state of North Carolina to provide outstanding free continuing education focused on treating and preventing cancer. We also support a variety of oncology-focused collaborations, from online multidisciplinary tumor boards to state-wide meetings and conferences. We work closely with a variety of health care organizations and campuses.
Our team uses a variety of technical resources to meet our goals, including video conferencing (Cisco), web conferencing (Zoom and WebEx), WordPress, classroom capture (Mediasite and Panopto), a health education LMS, a CRM (Salesforce), polling software, survey software, and much more. The person in this role will need to have proficiency (or quickly learn it) for these and other technologies.
The applicant will be part of a hard-working, close-knit team with strong communication skills and a commitment to make a difference in cancer care and research in North Carolina.
Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position’s role.
- Computer coursework may be substituted year-for- year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journey level requires an additional six months experience
- Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
The employee should have experience working in a setting that has included technical support (written and verbal), A/V skills & support, video/web conferencing support, WordPress (or comparable web editing and web design) abilities, classroom capture experience, and experience with technical documentation. Familiarity with databases (specifically CRMs such as Salesforce) preferred. Strong problem-solving skills are a must.
Preferred Qualifications:Skills working with a health education Learning Management System (LMS) preferred. Graphic art skills and videography skills are a plus. Video A+ and Net+ certifications would be useful, but exceptions may be made. Cisco video-related certifications helpful. AV certifications are helpful.
Special Physical and Mental Requirements:This staff member will be required to independently make repairs and modifications to conference rooms/studios that will include the following:
•Lifting equipment weighing as much as 25 pounds.
•Crawling under furniture.
•Working in tight spaces.
Morning work as early as 6:30 am occasionally
The position can be very mentally demanding at times, requiring close attention to detail and the ability to quickly solve technical problems while dozens of health care providers await a speedy resolution.
