Position Summary:The Application, Web & Data Services team within School of Medicine IT is looking for a well-rounded web application developer to support the SOM Application Development program. This position will be responsible for developing websites and applications that enhance the educational and research missions of the School of Medicine.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in a number of web technologies, both open-source and off-the-shelf and immersed in emerging web development trends. The candidate should also be self-motivated and able to independently balance competing priorities.
Educational Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications and Experience:Possess successful teamwork skills and ability to get along well with co- workers, management, and clients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prompt attention to detail. Willingness to learn and contribute both independently and as part of a team. The candidate should also be self- motivated and able to independently balance competing priorities.
Minimum: 2 – 10 years of experience in web application development using C# or Python, or other relevant areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC):
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, Python, MSSQL, MySQL
Familiarity with Git, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
Proven experience with the Agile (Scrum, Kanban) methodology. Familiarity with Atlassian suite of products. Experience working with clients to create web design features, write and meet technical needs, and provide a positive user experience.
