Job SummaryReporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this position plays a key role in several Human Resources functions and operates within well-defined policies, practices, and procedures. This position is responsible for the end product of processes that are dependent upon department heads/managers following preset guidelines and have the latitude to make decisions as needed from position level in the Human Resources area. The HR Generalist II provides guidance to managers in talent acquisition and other Human Resources related issues; and to ensure compliance in the recruitment process. This position requires effective interaction with all areas of the University.
Responsibilities- Manage the online recruitment process
- Assist department hiring authority with advertising positions and meeting specific needs for vacancy announcement exposure
- Provide assistance in the coordination of recruitment activities; process background request
- Perform position description updates
- Create and maintain a reclassification process
- Manage performance evaluation process
- Assist departments with HR related policies and procedures
- Prepare responses to unemployment claims; attend unemployment hearings
- Provide continuous hands-on assistance/troubleshooting for employee access and use of HR online systems
- Provide assistance to applicants with navigation of the application portalManage administrative services functions i.e. purchasing, eProcurement, account reconciliation, etc.
PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification.
