To conduct financial accounting activities including preparation of financial reports and statements; monitor account activities and handle compliance issues for restricted accounts; and provide assistance with annual audit process.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Automated financial systems. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Financial reporting and auditing processes.SkillsMust possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Maintaining an established work schedule. Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy. Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Preparing monthly and annual financial statements. Assisting with monthly and year-end close activities. Collaborating with staff to resolve matters relating to financial reporting and audit processes. Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships.Technology Skills
Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software. Use automated financial systems.Required Work Experience
Four years work experience in accounting.Required Education
Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a standard office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds.Safety
ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only).
