To support strategic decision making and institutional goals through the design and implementation of research studies and data analysis to address college policy and planning questions.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Statistical analysis methods and software (for example, SAS, STATA, SPSS, R). Research design. Higher education data. Governmental and other workforce and census data sets. Labor Market Information.SkillsMust possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Possessing customer oriented attitude and a solutions orientation. Conducting statistical analysis. Querying and extracting data from large databases. Ability to learn new software platforms. Maintaining an established work schedule. Strong communication skills in interpreting and presenting data. Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy. Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Producing data reports from complex data sets. Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Working with teams to develop and implement research projects, interpret data, and disseminate results. Ability to apply quality standards at a detail level, in order to provide stakeholders with accurate data in an accessible format for strategic planning and decision making.Technology Skills
Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software. Proficiency in using software applications to conduct data analysis, data extraction, and reports development. Proficiency coding in a programming language such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, SQL or similar language.Required Work Experience
Five years related work experience. Experience in institutional research, higher education administration, or related field. Experience with statistical programming language such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, SQL, etc. Experience with reporting and/or dashboarding tools such as Tableau, SAS VA, Excel, DOMO, etc.Required Education
Master's or PhD in social and behavioral sciences, or related field.Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety
