To support strategic decision making and institutional goals through the design and implementation of research studies and data analysis to address college policy and planning questions.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Designs and conducts research and evaluation studies investigating the impact of instructional and student support initiatives on student outcomes, using appropriate statistical and other software programs.

Conducts trend analyses to identify patterns, develop projections to support strategic planning, and creates dashboards to track collegewide goals.

Uses statistical software programming language to obtain and manipulate data from institutional, proprietary, and publicly available databases.

Enhances the use of graduate outcomes data and Labor Market Information to inform instructional programming.

Works with department staff and stakeholders on joint research studies; leads and implements data interpretation efforts.

Advises on research design, methodology, and program evaluation approaches.

Serves on collegewide councils, committees, and work groups.

Develops and maintains custom computer programs and queries to support internal and external reports.

Designs user-friendly data resources for a variety of college stakeholders.

Prepares reports, data visualizations, dashboards, and other resources.

Develops forecasting models or predictive models to optimize current and future outcomes.

Exercises excellent judgement to take initiative, solve problems, demonstrate critical thinking skills and adapt to shifting priorities.

Reviews team products, as assigned, to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables and serves as back up to Director, Institutional Research.

KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Working with teams to develop and implement research projects, interpret data, and disseminate results. Ability to apply quality standards at a detail level, in order to provide stakeholders with accurate data in an accessible format for strategic planning and decision making.Technology Skills

Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software. Proficiency in using software applications to conduct data analysis, data extraction, and reports development. Proficiency coding in a programming language such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, SQL or similar language.Required Work Experience

Three years related work experience.

Experience with statistical programming language such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, SQL, etc.

Preferred Work Experience

Five years related work experience. Experience in institutional research, higher education administration, or related field. Experience with statistical programming language such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, SQL, etc. Experience with reporting and/or dashboarding tools such as Tableau, SAS VA, Excel, DOMO, etc.Required Education

Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education

Master's or PhD in social and behavioral sciences, or related field.Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety
