Description
The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites application for a Medical Receptionist. This position is responsible for front office clinical activities that include: Scheduling patient appointments, answering the telephone, providing responsive customer service, collecting co-payments, following billing and collection procedures, and maintaining/verifying patient demographic information in the EHR (Electronic Health Record), including current active insurance and collecting and entering office visit transactions.

Job Duties:

Answers phone and schedules appointments after triaging needs of patients for all Beth-El Clinics. (PCC, PNC, CAL) Provides excellent customer service and maintains positive interactions with clients.Updates waiting clients on the status of their appointment if they are waiting past their appointment time.Works with the clinical team to triage walk-in requests for appointments.Communicates with an insurance broker, third party administrator, and insurance carrier as questions and issues arise.Collects co-payments and completes daily cash up form to include PCC, PNC, and CAL transactions.Enters payments into medical billing system daily.Reconciles all payments received from clinic payments, prints EMR report, and places all in the clinic safe.Assists office manager with marketing efforts when appropriate.Maintains up-to-date clinic forms.Responsible for entering written documentation related to patient care that is completed during the check-in process.Assists patients and providers with medical record requests. Likewise, responsible for sending requested documentation to other facilities with appropriately completed requests.Assists with customer service initiatives within the clinic to include distribution of surveys and assistance with analyzing those surveys. Opens and distributes all mail for the Lane Center.Preps future appointments notating all required copay’s, paperwork needed, and any account balances to address with patients upon check-in.Manages staff schedules- processes time off requests to ensure appropriate staffing, cross-checks, and notates on shared PCC calendar.Orders all office supplies utilizing CU Marketplace and/or The UCCS Copy Center.Processes deposits of cash and checks collected (copays/CAL payments) daily.Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: Generally starting at: $30,084 - $36,432

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or GED1 year computer experience with Microsoft Office1 year experience in customer service1 year experience with basic financial transactions 

Preferred Requirements:

EMR ExperienceExperience with medical billing/coding

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
