Position Description:

The Department of Physical Therapy at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position on the Round Rock, TX, campus. This position will be at the assistant, associate professor or professor rank for a nine-month appointment, with possible summer employment annually. All positions are subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Faculty responsibilities will include teaching, academic advising, scholarship and service in the entry-level DPT program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience to support the vision of the Texas State University Physical Therapy department, “To meet the health needs of society by providing a collaborative model for clinical education, a launching point for emerging clinicians, and to establish leaders in translational/clinical science.”

Required Qualifications:

A terminal doctorate degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc. or comparable);
Clinical experience and scholarship to support expertise in graduate level teaching and research; and
Licensed physical therapist eligible for physical therapy licensure in Texas.

The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in practice area (s), i.e. differential diagnosis, musculoskeletal, integumentary, cardiopulmonary, pelvic health, exercise, or other clinical practice;
Research productivity and/or desire to expand research expertise;
Ability to collaborate with a variety of professionals within a university and clinical/community setting;
Post-professional certification in area of expertise with demonstrated teaching/scholarship in chosen area;
Professional association membership and commitment to professional and community service; and
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to educate and motivate the next generation of leaders in the physical therapy profession.
