Work Schedule:8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday, weekend and overnight hours, as necessary, during large events and incident response/emergency operations center activation
Primary Purpose of Position:The position will coordinate all efforts related to the University’s business continuity program to include working with the Director of Emergency Management to set strategic priorities; management of the business continuity planning management software (University Resiliency Planner); engaging individual departments in meetings and orientations; and guiding departments through the plan development process.
Minimum Education/Experience:Graduation from a four year college or university and at least three years of program associate experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Job Duties:Prepares and analyzes overall business operations and matters pertaining to the program area.
Plan Development: conduct threat/risk assessments for operations of the University; lead the effort to identify critical business processes of the University.
Coordinate and lead the management and development of continuity plans and procedures for all critical business processes.
Develop long ranges objectives for the strategic planning process.
Coordinate and guide departmental revisions to existing business continuity plans or procedures, or development of new plans as necessary.
Serve as a resource for others in resolving issues and problems related to business continuity and the University’s business continuity and recovery programs.
Anticipates problems, projects probable outcomes and potential impact on policy or program and work with the Director of EM to develop and implement solutions.
Other Work Responsibilities:Some other duties as required.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Business Continuity Planning, Emergency Management, Risk Management or related field.
3+ years of Business Continuity/Recovery experience.
CBCP or MBCP, or CBCI or MBCI Certificate or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
Must have excellent oral presentation skills for large and small audiences.
Demonstrated ability to influence and obtain buy-in of program objectives & strategy, without having direct reporting authority.
